...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM PDT THIS MORNING DUE TO WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR NORTH BAY INTERIOR MOUNTAINS... * AFFECTED AREA...North Bay Interior Mountains. * TIMING...Until 11 AM PDT this morning. * WINDS 20 FOOT...North winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts between 30 to 40 mph. The highest peaks above 4000 ft will see gusts up to 60 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Relative Humidity between 13 to 23 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

What to do: A Red Flag Warning is issued when weather conditions that promote rapid spread of fire which may become life-threatening are forecast. This does not mean there is a fire. These conditions are either occurring now or will begin soon. It is important to have multiple ways to receive information from authorities. Follow all fire restrictions. One less spark, one less wildfire. Never leave burning debris or camp fires unattended; extinguish them completely. Avoid using equipment or machinery that could create a spark. Secure tow chains to avoid dragging and subsequent sparks. Never toss cigarette butts out of your vehicle's window. Remember, one less spark, one less flame. Familiarize yourself with your emergency plan! Where will you go? How will you get there? Do you have your go kit ready to go? Who will you call to let others know you are safe? Visit ready.gov/plan for more information.

How these alerts work

  • Alerts are the National Weather Service CAP alerts (api.weather.gov), refreshed every two minutes. Tests and exercises are left out; only actual alerts appear.
  • The EAS code comes from the event code in the SAME header of the alert (TOR, SVR or FFW, for example). Alerts the Weather Service does not put out over EAS, including most advisories, read "not sent over EAS".
  • Your state EAS plan and your decoder settings decide whether your station relays a given alert.

Alert text comes from the National Weather Service. Neither the NWS nor the FCC produces this page.
