How these alerts work
- Alerts are the National Weather Service CAP alerts (api.weather.gov), refreshed every two minutes. Tests and exercises are left out; only actual alerts appear.
- The EAS code comes from the event code in the SAME header of the alert (TOR, SVR or FFW, for example). Alerts the Weather Service does not put out over EAS, including most advisories, read "not sent over EAS".
- Your state EAS plan and your decoder settings decide whether your station relays a given alert.
Alert text comes from the National Weather Service. Neither the NWS nor the FCC produces this page.
